Familiarity is key to Strinesdale success

ANGLING
ORGANISER Darren Webb (Medlock Bridge) knows Strinesdale Reservoir like the back of his hand, and he proved it with a win in the Thursday match as he netted himself 14lb.
Fishing maggot right up in the water with a pollyball, Webb caught three big chub and some decent roach to beat Jim Wiseman into second with his tip and maggot accounting for 11lb 10oz of chub and skimmers.
Kevin Worthington also fished the tip and maggot, catching 8lb 10oz of roach and skimmers.
q TYLE Lodge fished brilliantly for the latest of the Socials AC matches as Craig Bradford put 31lb 15oz onto the scales.
Bradford fished the method feeder to catch carp and bream to beat Dave Ireland into second, with his long pole, worm and caster catching 28lb 4oz of roach, bream, carp and ide.
Steve Platts was third on the day with his 26lb 4oz catch made up of carp, roach and skimmers that fell for long pole and maggot.
SIMON Cook again took top spot in the latest of the Medlock Bridge AC open matches on the Park Lake.
His cracking 25lb 15oz of tench and f1s to 3lb fell pole and chopped worm.
Geoff Dawson is framing on a regular basis, and did so again in this match with a second-placed 14lb 4oz of corn-tempted tench and f1s that weighed up to 3lb.
Billy Brierley’s record on this water is incredible with countless wins and placings.
In this match Brierley had to settle for third with chopped worm netting him half-a-dozen f1s and some skimmers that together weighed 12lb 15oz.
Joe Rowan took first place in the Medlock Bridge AC earlier Monday open match, with his 24lb 7oz net including some big f1s to 4lb that fell to pole and maggot.
Second-placed Ryan Seirle caught 20lb 15oz of f1s and small tench on pole and maggot, beating John Broadbent into third as his pole and pellet worked well for his 13lb 14oz.
CHRIS Lett took first place in the Todmorden AS Tuesday match, with his worm and caster tactics tempting 39lb 1oz of carp.
Rob McKendry took second with 21lb 9oz of carp, beating Pete Mottram into third. He bagged 19lb 9oz of corn-taken carp.
