THE Saddleworth and District Cricket League still have a strong presence in this season’s LCB Cup.
Handed a bye in the opening phase, Moorside play St Anne’s, from the Northern League, while Uppermill face Liverpool Competition powerhouse Bootle, conquerors of Stayley.
Glodwick’s reward for surprising Bolton League side Westhoughton is a clash against Prestwich, of the Lancashire County League.
Uppermill’s 65-runs victory over East Lancs PM in round one was their first of the season.
James Chamberlain made 92 off 59 balls coming in at number eight — he struck nine fours and seven sixes — while Andrew Jones picked up five for 40 from 8.4 overs.
There were a bucket-load of extras in the East Lancs reply — 45 of them, including 31 wides.
