Royton duo sit things out

CRICKET:
ROYTON must play their next two Lake Garage CLL fixtures without skipper Denny Hulme and all-rounder Alan Durose.
The pair have been handed bans following remarks they allegedly made during Royton's home game against Norden on May 4. Hulme is out for two matches, Durose for four.
Both have decided not to appeal.
The league fixture against Norden in May ended in a frustrating defeat for Royton, who were convinced that a number of umpiring decisions had gone against them.
Hulme admitted he queried the dismissals for leg before wicket of professional Pieter Malan and number four batsman Durose. Both were out to visiting pro Daniel Salpietro.
Hulme said: "I questioned the umpires' decisions, but there was no swearing or aggression – nothing other than a polite question.”
The umpire believed Durose used a swear word after being given out, which both Hulme and Durose vehemently deny.
