OLDHAM welterweight Ronnie Heffron steps up preparations for his long-awaited first title shot by fighting on the undercard of Frankie Gavin and Junior Witter’s British welterweight title showdown tomorrow night.
The unbeaten 21 year old was supposed to take on David Barnes in a British title eliminator last month, cancelled when Barnes was injured in a car accident.
Instead he heads to this fight in Bethnal Green, four weeks before his title fight at the Manchester Arena on November 30.
Heffron again takes on Peter McDonagh, whom he defeated in a unanimous verdict in July. His opponent in the title bout is yet to be confirmed.
