NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL; MOSSLEY manager Shaun Higgins is wary of a backlash tonight when he takes his side to Trafford in the Evo-Stik League Division One North (7.45pm kick-off).

The Lilywhites strolled to a 6-0 win in the reverse fixture at the end of November, and Higgins fully expects Trafford to embark on a revenge mission.

He said: “They will be desperate to put things right by getting a result against us.

“We put six past them last time so I am sure they are keen to get their revenge.

“It will be another difficult test for us. The good thing about going to Trafford is, their pitch is very good.

“We are a passing side. We like to knock the ball about whenever we can, and when the playing surface is as good as the one at Trafford, we are able to play our own game.”

Higgins was satisfied with the point gained in the 1-1 draw with Warrington Town at the weekend in testing weather conditions at Seel Park.

But he has labelled tonight’s clash as a must-win game.

He said: “We want to climb the league table as soon as possible to put pressure on the teams above us.

“Anything less than a win would be a disappointment.”

Mossley have a full compliment of players from which to choose.

OLDHAM Boro boss Tony Mills was disappointed to see the home game against Atherton Collieries called off, in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.
He said: “The pitch was wet through. There was not a chance of playing the match, which is a shame because we don’t have any injuries at the moment and we have been training well.”

Ashton Town’s trip to Chadderton was also postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Both games are yet to be re-arranged.
