AMATEUR FOOTBALL: HOLLINWOOD boss Fred Hardicre believes tomorrow’s Manchester County FA Challenge Trophy semi-final against neighbours Avro could be a classic.
Hardicre’s men are underdogs, as they currently lie bottom of the Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League Premier Division — while Avro are top.
Curzon Ashton reserves face Wythenshawe Amateurs in the other semi-final.
Greenwood hits hat-trick
UPPERMILL romped to a 6-4 triumph over Rothwell Athletic in the West Riding Challenge Cup third round.
The Huddersfield and District League Division One outfit were inspired by a Bobby Greenwood hat-trick.
Kris Ventress got a brace and Joe Rigby completed the scoring.

LEADERS Avro remain one point ahead of Manchester Gregorians at the top of the Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League Premier Division, following a 1-0 win over Walshaw Sports.
Anthony Tong got the decisive goal for Avro.
Midtable Royton Town earned a 2-2 draw at strugglers Atherton Town.
Fred Hardicre’s Hollinwood side, still bottom after a 5-3 reverse against Bury Amateurs, are now five points behind Atherton, having played two more matches.
After Hollinwood recovered from 2-0 down to lead
3-2, a penalty swung the game back in Bury Amateurs’ favour and it fell apart from that point.
Rob Thomas, Steve Barrow and Nathan Eastmond all found the net for Hollinwood, but to no avail.
Six of the best as Santos win derby
SECOND-PLACED Santos thumped neighbours Oldham Victoria 6-0 in the Lancashire and Cheshire League Division Two.
Levi Morris bagged a brace for Santos. Also on the mark were Matt Fitton, Jonny Phillips, Tim Buxton and Keith Kurpass.
