Oldham League waiting to hear from Limehurst

RUGBY LEAGUE:
THE OLDHAM Amateur Rugby League have issued a statement outlining their position as the ding-dong war of words with the professional club rumbles on.
Oldham Limehurst ARLFC — a new amateur club, created by the Roughyeds — intended entering a side into the Gillette National Youth but had their application initially turned down by the competition’s management.
And the Oldham League, highlighting a BARLA rule, say that the Limehurst outfit have so far failed to make contact with regard to joining the local league.
“The Oldham Limehurst ARLFC has not applied for membership of the local league as per BARLA rule 4-4, which says that all clubs must be in membership of the district league in which they are geographically located prior to joining any fixture-organising league unless dispensation has been granted by the BARLA board of management,” the statement reads.
“The local league secretary (Phil Bradbury) was instructed to write to the National Youth League seeking answers to a number of questions.
“At no time had anyone from the Oldham RLFC or Oldham Limehurst ARLFC contacted him to inform him that they wished to join the National Youth League, or were forming a team in the Limehurst and Hollinwood area.
“The Oldham Amateur League and its secretary Phil Bradbury has been reported as ‘scare mongering’ and writing to the National Youth league without speaking to (Oldham Roughyeds chairman) Chris Hamilton or anyone at the club to ascertain the facts.
“In answer to this, at no point has Mr Hamilton or the Oldham Limehurst ARLFC been in contact with him or the local Amateur League to discuss this problem.
“It should be made clear that Mr Hamilton has an open invitation to attend the local Amateur League’s meetings to discuss any issues that may arise.
“This has never been taken up. Although if it had been, the Amateur League would have been able to point out the correct procedure to enter a new team in the Amateur League.
“The invitation to meet with the Amateur League still remains open.”
