Hodson sparks ’Bank

BOWLS:

SPRINGBANK regained the outright lead in the Inbev Winter Bowling League’s ‘A’ Division thanks to an 8-3 defeat of Springhead.

Alan Hodson made it 10 wins from as many games with a 21-8 defeat of Wayne Roberts and although Paul Roberts replied with a 21-9 win for Springhead, Springbank clinched the aggregate by 19 points.

Waterloo and Taunton surrendered top spot when they had only four winners and the aggregate against Hopwood, while in the other ‘A’ Division game to be played, Royle beat New Street 9-2.

Nimble Nook hold a two-points lead over Chadderton Cot in the ‘B’ Division following their 7-4 victory over Vixens, while Dogwood beat Prestwich 6-5 and Failsworth saw off Stalybridge 9-2.


There will be four matches on Saturday, starting at 9am, with Hopwood v Springbank in the ‘A’ Division.


Hopwood take on North Chadderton at 11am, Waterloo and Taunton play New Street at 1pm and Royle meet Springhead at 3pm.

‘B’ Division action on Sunday sees Stalybridge play Dogwood at 9am, Failsworth v Chadderton Cot at 11am, Failsworth v Vixens at 1pm and Prestwich v Nimble Nook at 3pm.
