FOOTBALL: UPPERMILL earned a 2-1 win at Berry Brow in the Huddersfield and District League Division One.
Elsewhere, Heyside were knocked out of the Huddersfield FA Challenge Cup following a 4-2 defeat to West Riding outfit YMCA.
Leon Perry and Jake Warburton scored for Heyside.
Richardson Cup action saw Uppermill reserves get the better of Kirkheaton with a 6-2 success.
CHADDERTONIANS lost 2-1 at home to Old Mancunians in the Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division.
Neil Sissons gave Chadds an early lead, but the visitors soon equalised, and they won the match with an injury time goal.
AN entertaining clash saw Lancashire Amateur League beat the Lancashire and Cheshire League 2-1 in their annual representative clash.
Matt Chilton put Lancashire and Cheshire in front, but their opponents hit back, with Failsworth Dynamos’ Liam Stuttard pouncing twice.
SANTOS reserves went down to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Mellor in Division ‘C’.
Trailing 2-0 at the break, Santos came back into it after the restart when Paul Marsh latched on to a Steve Cass through ball, but they couldn’t find an equaliser.
Santos Soccer School are currently recruiting reception year children to join their regular coaching sessions at Hopwood Hall College on Wednesdays, from 5pm to 6pm.
The scheme has been running for more than 15 months, with a qualified team of coaches who aim to provide a fun environment for youngsters to learn the sport.
