OLDHAM men boast a five-point lead at the top of the Lancashire GMC Super Eights.
Spearheaded by Peter Connolly’s 4-0 win — he averaged 88.89 and recorded a check-out of 116 — the town team defeated Blackpool 7-3 at the Flowerpot.
Gary Jackson (80.88) and Dave Rawstron (71.55) also completed whitewash wins for the local side, who were leading 7-1 at one stage.
Also victorious were Ian Walters (4-1, 69.42), Lee Williams (4-3), John Moreton (4-1, 84.55) and Dave Yates (4-1, 86.45). Yates registered a finish of 120.
Meanwhile, Connolly is in county action this weekend. He is in the Lancashire team for the away match against Hampshire.
OLDHAM women’s darts team drew 4-4 in their home Lancashire GMC Super League clash against Morecambe.
Winners were Joan Hicken (3-1), Shereen Downs (3-1), Janet Fox (3-0) and Debbie Dunkerley (3-1).
The next match pits Oldham’s town team away to top-of-the-table Swinton on Sunday, November 8.
