OLDHAM Victoria made it fifth time lucky in division two of the Lancashire and Cheshire League.
After four straight defeats, they finally broke their duck with a 2-1 win at home to Manchester Rovers.
Jordan Lever was the star of the show. The 17-year-old created havoc, scoring one and setting up substitute Dean Whitty, also 17, for a last-gasp winner.
Santos conceded late on as they went down to a disappointing 4-3 defeat at home to Droylsden Amateurs.
Adam McKinney put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot, only for Droylsden to score two goals in quick succession.
McKinney restored parity just before half-time, but the visitors were back in front after the restart.
Santos were level again within five minutes — Chris Sarsfield heading home a corner — but there was no way back for the local outfit after Droylsden notched their fourth.
Victoria reserves produced a dominant display in a 4-2 defeat of Cheadle Hulme Villa in division ‘C’ — Tremain Blair, Jimmy Humphries (two) and Richard Rawsthorne got the goals — and Santos reserves came from behind to beat their Barr Hill counterparts 2-1 in division ‘D’.
