CHADDERTON and Oldham Town meet familiar opponents in tomorrow’s second qualifying round round of the FA Vase.

They are both up against teams from the Vodkat North-West Counties League.

Chadderton, from division one, face a tough test at home to Padiham, who were promoted to the premier division in May.

Manager Paul Buckley will have to rejig his team following last Saturday’s goalless draw against high-flying Daisy Hill.

Dave Glynn, Keith Melvin and Danny Bell were all injured, and only Bell has a chance of being declared fit. Captain Mark Egerton is also missing because of work commitments.

On the plus side, John Jones, Gareth Morris and Danny Shaw all return.

OLDHAM TOWN go to AFC Blackpool, who are rock bottom of division one.

But manager Tony Mills reckons tomorrow’s hosts are in a “false position” and has warned his players against complacency.

He said: “I saw Blackpool draw 2-2 against Ashton Town last weekend and it won’t be easy.

“They have beaten premier division Maine Road in the first qualifier, while they have played most of the top teams in the league.”

Town have re-signed midfield man Duncan Philbin, but Nick Murphy is on holiday and Leon Melia is working. Top scorer Darren Scanlan is also a doubt.

MOSSLEY are looking ahead to an old boys reunion for their UniBond League, first division north fixture at home to Salford City tomorrow.

City, who are bottom and without a win in six league matches, have former Lilywhites players Andy Robertson, Alex Mortimer and Rhodri Giggs in their line up as well former Athletic pair Ged Murphy and Ashley Kelly.

It has been a week of enormous change at Seel Park, where manager Chris Willcock has brought in ’keeper Farai Jackson (Colwyn Bay), striker Stuart Wellstead (Winsford) and midfield pair Joe Shaw (New Mills) and Nick Allen (Glossop).

But Kurtis Noble and Nathan McDonald and ’keeper Matthew Wrigley have all been released, while Leon Henry has left because of increased work commitments.
