Khartoum off to bright start

KHARTOUM Northern have made an eye-catching start to the new D&J Builders (North-West) Ltd Oldham Sunday League season.

The Jack Abbott premier division new-boys overcame Oddies 5-2, before brushing aside Failsworth Athletic 4-2.

Chaddy End FC, the reigning champions, have endured mixed fortunes.

Narrow 4-3 winners at Failsworth Athletic in midweek, they were then beaten 2-1 at home to High Crompton.

Wellington ‘A’ scored three goals in each of their first two games in David Giblin division one — but went down to Bridge Inn and Fitton Hill.

Royton Athletic have enjoyed back-to-back wins, overcoming Fitton Hill and Bridge Inn 1-0 and 2-0 respectively.

Rifle Range Royal Blues have hit the ground running in division two, beating Crompton and Royton 4-0 and North Star 6-0.
