Match cancelled

STAYLEY’S division one match at home to Moorside did not go ahead — despite the wicket and outfield being declared fit by the umpires.
Traffic problems left the hosts with only six first-team players changed and ready when the game should have started at 1.15pm.
Stayley informed the umpires and when the players did arrive, they then had trouble lifting a sightscreen into position.
The sightscreen eventually disintegrated at which point the Moorside players ran out of patience and left, in the presumption they would be awarded the average points total gained by winning teams on the day for an unfulfilled fixture.
Umpires Brian Cutler and John Lord have sent a report to the league.

Mirza’s six lifts Delph
A SIX-WICKET haul from Kamran Mirza put Delph in command at Holmfirth in premiership one of the Drakes Huddersfield League.
The spinner finished with figures of six for 54 from 18 overs in the home side’s total of 150 for nine. Aaron Lilley got two for 44.
Delph reached their target in the 37th over, with Grant Jones (23) and Luke Hargreaves (25) sharing an unbroken stand of 45 for the sixth wicket.
Saturday’s fixture at Clayton West was abandoned because of a wet outfield.
