DECLAN Wilkinson struck a stunning maiden century as Heyside crushed Crompton by 205 runs in the JW Lees Brewery Pennine Cricket League Premiership.
The all-rounder smashed exactly 100, of which 86 came in boundaries (10 fours and six sixes), in the hosts' total of 257.
Crompton collapsed to 52 all out as they missed the chance to go third in the table. Scott Bloor, with five for 34, and professional Bilal Khiljee (four for 17) did the damage.
Austerlands kept their heads, just, to pull off a terrific victory.
In a thrilling finish at Hare Hill, Andy Young's men won by one wicket with four balls remaining.
Ryan Miskella held the Littleborough innings together with a fine 81 out of 196 for seven. Lee Milner took 'all the fours', four for 44.
Austerlands were going well on 146 for four in reply, but a series of mishaps saw them slip to 186 for eight and then 194 for nine.
With finger nails well-bitten and captain Young unbeaten on 15 at the non-striker's end, it was left to last man Adriane Morrison to score the winning runs.
Saddleworth are still looking for their first success in the Premiership this season.
In reply to Glodwick's 207 for five, they were 81 for six when rain stopped play at the end of the 33rd over at Warren Lane.
Third-wicket pair pro Rehan Rafiq (91) and Franco Lenhardt (47) added 128 for Glodwick.
REIGNING
Umesh Karunaratne was a thorn in Greenfield's side as the Ladhill Lane club suffered a two-wicket loss at the hands of reigning champions Walsden.
The paid man took four for 56 in helping to restrict the hosts to 183 for seven.
And when wickets were falling down all around him, the Sri Lankan held firm for 106 not out, which featured eight fours and eight sixes.
Leaders Norden had no trouble in sweeping aside Rochdale at Woodhouse Lane.
The visitors, who started the day in third place, were skittled for just 87, with Naveed Zamurad taking five for 21. Zamurad followed up with an unbeaten 40 as Norden cruised to victory inside in the 10th over.
Dylan McLachlan scored more than half of Stayley's runs - the overseas amateur made 42 - as they crashed to 81 all out at Monton and Weaste. The innings also included 22 extras.
The home side coasted home for the loss of one wicket.
