MOMENTUM . . . Andrew Gleave
DELPH remain unbeaten in the Drakes Huddersfield League so far this season - but only just.
Yesterday Andrew Gleave's men scraped through to the quarter-finals of the Sykes Cup competition after a run-fest against Thongsbridge.
Thongsbridge took first knock and must have been satisfied with a total of 332 for seven.
Delph were up against it, but they reached their hefty target with two wickets to spare as Mosun Hussain hit 112 and Shreevats Goswami 45. Michael Finnan added 64 not out late in the innings.
On Saturday in the league, Delph got the better of Cawthorne in another high-scoring encounter.
Gleave's team took first knock and racked up 375 for nine, largely thanks to Arron Lilley's brilliant 130 and 104 from Goswami.
In a gutsy reply, Cawthorne reached 328 all out, despite a superb 181 from Liam Wiles - the highest score in the league so far this term.
THERE was a thrilling tied game at Belfields between hosts Woodhouses and Greenmount in the Greater Manchester League Division One.
The visitors took first knock, scoring 206 for eight from their 50-over allocation.
K Pawar top-scored for Greenmount with 64.
In reply, 'Houses only lost five wickets, but needed one run off the final ball of their 50 overs to secure maximum points.
However, they couldn't grab the single they needed and were also left on a final total of 206.
