Super Snyman stuns Monton

CLEANED UP: Oldham captain Rashid Hussain is bowled.
HOLDERS Monton and Weaste were on the wrong end of a Gerrie Snyman power show in the first round of group games in the Tom Hardman Twenty20 Cup.
The Namibian professional smashed an unbeaten 107 for opponents Moorside as the visitors to Turf Pit Lane went down to a 53-run defeat.
Snyman hit 12 fours and half-a-dozen sixes in his scintillating 49-ball stay.
Chasing 227 for victory, Monton were dismissed for 163, with Imran Khan taking four for 14.
Elsewhere in Group 'A', Stayley held their nerve for a three-run success over Heyside, for whom paid man Bilal Khiljee made 59.
SHORT
Despite falling two runs short of his century, Josh Tolley helped Norden to an emphatic 167-run defeat of Micklehurst.
In Group 'B' of the JW Lees Pennine Cricket League's T20 competition, Glodwick upset the form book as they overcame Premiership rivals Crompton by 21 runs. Zaheeb Mirza claimed four of the Glebe Street club's wickets for 27 runs.
The match between Ashton and Hollinwood saw the latter prevail in a 'super over', with four runs against two, after the scores had finished tied on 125
Pro Chirag Khurana struck 78 from 35 balls for Royton, who held off Milnrow by 15 runs.
There was a close encounter at Towncroft, where Championship leaders Middleton beat Shaw by one run.
EXCITING
The Uber Street ground, the home of Austerlands, also saw an exciting one-run triumph for the hosts over Rochdale in Group 'D'.
Last season's beaten finalists Greenfield made a winning start, sweeping aside Oldham by seven wickets.
The Ladhill Lane outfit did not hang about, reaching their target of 129 in 12.1 overs.
