BIG NIGHT BECKONING . . . Andy Kremner
ANDY Kremner is all fired up and raring to go ahead of his eagerly-anticipated return to the boxing ring tomorrow night in Bolton.
Delph-based welterweight hopeful Kremner (24) will take on tough Newark journeyman Fonz Alexander on the VIP Boxing promotion at the Bolton Whites Hotel at Bolton Wanderers FC.
Although he boasts a perfect record of six wins from six in the paid ranks so far, Kremner hasn't fought for 18 months due to a shoulder injury.
STARTING
Consequently, because of that time out of action, he does feel a little as though he's starting all over again.
'Krem De La Krem' - who is now trained by Matthew Hatton in Stockport - said: "In many ways it does feel like I'm making my pro debut again.
"It has been a while since my last fight, but I'm more than ready now.
"I've boxed for years myself now. I've done it all before, I've boxed all over the world and represented my country and the north-west as an amateur.
"I'll be just fine."
Kremner will be roared on by upwards of 100 fans in Bolton. He's sold more than 40 ringside tickets alone.
There will be pressure on to deliver a result, and he certainly won't be taking 29-year-old Alexander lightly.
"He is a dangerous journeyman," said Kremner.
"He can whack alright - that's why they call him 'boom boom'.
"He's durable and will be tough to break down, but I've put everything into my preparations for this fight with Matt and I'm determined to put on a great show.
"I'll be buzzing on my way into that ring."
Kremner will be joined on the VIP bill - set to be screened live by BoxNation TV - by Failsworth's Danny Wright.
His pre-fight preview will be in tomorrow's Chronicle.
