ROYTON professional Chirag Khurana ripped apart the Friarmere attack in a devastating show of batting in the JW Lees Brewery Pennine Cricket League.
The Indian smashed an unbeaten 227 in Sunday's Championship meeting at The Paddock - a new club record - before taking six for 34 to clinch a 194-run victory.
Khurana's reached his first century in 100 balls and his second 53 deliveries later. He struck a staggering 27 fours and eight sixes in steering his side to 329 for five.
FLYING
It was a good weekend for Royton as they defeated Oldham by 149 runs on Saturday. Skipper James Maurice Scott made 85.
Shaw are flying after three straight wins.
Overseas amateur Jameel Stuart took four for eight as the Holebottom Clough outfit trounced Moorside by eight wickets.
Shaw, with Stuart contributing 53, followed up with a 54-run win at Hollinwood.
Ashton's troubles with the bat continued on Saturday as they crashed to 34 all out - Lewis Daniel claimed five for seven and Stuart Chamley four for 16 - in reply to Micklehurst's 175 for seven.
However, the Rayner Lane side got their act together with the bat 24 hours later, scoring 201 for eight, after Milnrow had compiled 263 for five.
Saeen Anwar Jnr made 78 for Milnrow, 24 hours after making 143 not out in the 38-run defeat of Friarmere.
Beaten by Middleton on Saturday, Werneth recovered to beat hosts Micklehurst by three wickets, thanks to Matthew Hodson's unbeaten 58.
Uppermill got off the mark for the season by overcoming Hollinwood by 16 runs, but played second fiddle to Middleton on Sunday.
