BRILLIANT Chadderton roared into the semi-finals of the Hallmark Security League's premier knock-out competition - the Macron Cup.
Facing a tricky away last-eight tie at Premier Division Nelson, First Division Chaddy secured a superb 3-1 victory at Little Wembley in what boss Mark Howard had last week described as the club's 'biggest game of the season'.
Chaddy stormed into a 3-0 lead inside 36 minutes, thanks to strikes from Leon Iloube (pictured), Tim Astley and Sam Gibson.
Jay Hart responded for the top-flight side before the interval, but the score remained the same.
Chaddy's reward for their memorable victory is a mouth-watering two-legged semi-final tie against First Division high-fliers City of Liverpool.
The first leg will be played on Merseyside first, with dates for both ties still to be finalised.
Chaddy are back in league action on Wednesday night (7.45pm kick-off) when they travel to Bacup Borough.
RALLIED
COMEBACK kids Mossley rallied after going behind early on to secure another precious victory in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.
Hosting high-flying Clitheroe, prospects didn't look good for the Lilywhites when Charlie Russell struck the opening goal for the visitors after 16 minutes.
However, two goals in four minutes shortly before half-time turned the game on its head.
Tom Pratt and skipper Tom Dean provided the firepower which ultimately handed Mossley three points as they now appear to be winning their battle to avoid relegation.
The Lilywhites - who are now a comfortable 12 points clear of the drop zone - will bid to secure a third straight victory on Saturday when they travel to second-bottom Goole.
