BAIZE OF BROTHERS...Ryan Davies (left) and Aaron Davies.
TALENTED potting siblings Ryan and Aaron Davies continue to make waves in snooker and pool.
Ryan, aged 14, was in blistering form when he qualified in style for the finals of the EASB English 6 Reds Snooker Championship.
The north-west regional qualifiers were held at the Oldham Snooker Academy at the Osborne Mill on Waddington Street, and in one match, left-handed Ryan knocked in a breath-taking total clearance of 75. That brilliant effort came during a match officiated by World Snooker professional referee Luise Kraatz from Germany.
Senior Oldham player Mick Dickinson also progressed, so he and Ryan Davies now move on to the finals day in Birmingham in May.
Already a break centurion in a competitive match, Ryan has knocked in three maximum 147 runs, though only in a practise environment.
Ryan also has another England under-16s appearance to look forward to in August, while he also continues to more than hold his own in the Premier Tour, for the top 20 ranked junior players in the country.
He competes regularly against players as old as the under-21 age category, but so far has given as good as he's got.
Ryan's brother Aaron, who is now 19, is now concentrating almost solely on pool. Already a national champion in that particular sport, Aaron has recently been promoted from the England under-23s to men's 'A' team, and this week he will be in action contesting the European Championships at the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool.
