King George rule the roost in cup cracker

FIVE different players were on the mark for Limeside King George as they defeated Coppice United 5-2 in the Oldham Sunday League Challenge Cup.
Liam Cashmore, Leon Melia, Joe Heap, Wayne Ware and Carl Caffrey struck for the Jack Abbott Premier Division leaders, while Umar Khatab and an own-goal registered for Coppice.
Crown saw off Springhead Libs 5-2 in one of only two Premier Division fixtures to take place (see Match of the Day).
The other fixture saw CASIM of Manchester defeat Oldham GPO 3-1 thanks to strikes from Christian Iwuoha (two) and Dean Hill. Mike King scored for the posties.
Oddies 14 march on at the top of David Giblin Division One following a 3-0 victory at High Crompton Victoria.
On target were Ricky Cropper (two) and George Terry.
Church beat Oldham XI 7-3, with Ryan Miller, Matty Crothers, Jamie Mayall, Mathew Fogarty, Kieron Hilton, Gerard Forde and Josh Haigh scoring the goals. Aaron Taylor (two) and Jack House netted for Oldham XI.
Ash Ainsworth bagged five as Horseshoe sunk Gardeners 7-1.
Callum Willis and Andy Benson completed Horseshoe's tally, with Marc Pogorzelec replying.
Old Skool also scored seven, conceding three in a big win against Alt.
Sakib Shafiq (two), Hasan Ali (two), Junaid Farooq, Ikram Daud and Murtaza Neveed struck for Old Skool, with Trent Johns, Jack Brooks and Kieran Martin replying.
