Mossley in more home agony
Date published: 24 October 2016
MOSSLEY'S home woes continued in emphatic style as Trafford secured a convincing 4-1 Evo-Stik League Division One North victory at Seel Park.
The Lilywhites lost their sixth home fixture of the season, and have still picked up just ONE solitary point on their own patch this term.
Initially prospects looked encouraging for Mossley against Trafford when Tom Pratt pounced to open the scoring after four minutes.
However, Lee Neville equalised in the 22nd minute.
The south Manchester outfit then cut loose in the second period, adding further goals from Craig Robinson and Aaron Burns (two).
The Lilywhites, who are now down to 18th place in the league table, return to action tomorrow when they travel to Tameside neighbours Hyde United for their rearranged Manchester Premier Cup first round tie (7.45pm kick-off).
The first meeting between the two clubs on October 4 had to be abandoned midway through the second period after Lilywhites midfielder Callum Warburton suffered a horrific broken leg.
Meanwhile, the Lilywhites' young team were beaten 5-1 at Northern Premier League Academy Chryso Division leaders Mickleover Sports in Derbyshire.
Callum Barrow scored the visitors' consolation goal, direct from a 30-yard free-kick.
Jake Dickenson scored a hat-trick for the hosts.
CHADDERTON'S Buildbase FA Vase dreams are over for another season.
Mark Howard's side were knocked out at the first round stage, 3-1 at AFC Emley from the Nothern Counties East League.
All the goals came in the second half.
Matt Jackson and Tom Brennan scored for the Yorkshiremen shortly after the restart, before Gareth Hill's 74th-minute strike gave Chaddy some hope.
However, Ashley Flynn netted in the final minute to fire Emley into the draw for the second round.
Chaddy return to action on Saturday when they head to Holker Old Boys for a Hallmark Security League Macron Cup second round tie at Rakesmoor.
