Lilywhites on the slide after more Seel Park misery
Date published: 17 October 2016
SLIDING TACKLE . . . Mossley's Jonah Gosling (white strip) stretches for a challenge.
MOSSLEY are now hovering precariously above the Evo-Stik League Division One North relegation zone after slipping to another home defeat - this time to Colne.
The Lilywhites disappointed again in front of the Seel Park faithful as they lost out to Adam Morning's 17th-minute strike for the visitors.
Mossley are now just two points clear of the bottom three in the table, having still not won a home league match all season.
The Lilywhites return to action tomorrow evening in what promises to be a tasty Tameside league derby clash at Hyde United (7.45pm kick-off).
Better news came from Mossley's youngsters as they saw off Witton Albion 5-3 in their latest Northern Premier League Academy Chryso Division clash.
Taye Rashford - believed to be the half-brother of Manchester United and England striker Marcus Rashford - scored a terrific hat-trick, while Reiss Delaney and skipper Curtis Norris were also on target.
CHADDERTON rallied from a goal behind at half-time to defeat Holker Old Boys 3-2 at home in the Halmark Security League First Division.
The Cumbrian outfit led at the interval thanks to Jamie Patterson's strike.
However, Chaddy hit back brilliantly to fire themselves 3-1 ahead courtesy of Vincent Howell (penalty), James Curley and Luke Heron.
The Old Boys scored again through Christopher Wraighte, but Chaddy comfortably held on for the victory.
Mark Howard's men return to action tomorrow at the ARK Fleetech Stadium when FC United are in town for a rearranged Manchester Premier Cup first round fixture (7.45pm).
