POTTING machine Aaron Davies is a world champion at the age of 14.

The Royton ace was a member of the England team that clinched top honours at the Junior World Pool Championships at Blackpool’s Imperial Hotel.

Aaron won seven out of his 12 games during the week-long competition.

The teenage cuemaster did not get on the table in the final against Malta as England had already built up a match-winning lead.

But Aaron played in the semi-final defeat of India and the quarter-final victory over Scotland.

Dad Martin said: “We’re all chuffed. It was a great week for Aaron and good experience to play against some of the best in the world of a similar age.”

A pupil at Newman College and a member of the Oldham Snooker Academy, he was selected for England under-18s after a successful trial in Leicester.
