CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING: CHRIS Brown has proved in a class of his own in the Oldham Schools Cross-Country Championships.
Victory in the Years 10-11 race at Chadderton Hall Park completed a clean sweep for the 15-year-old Crompton House pupil.
Chris started his domination in Year Sevens and has carried it through since.
With his rivals trailing behind, he has added the Years Eight, Nines and 10-11s (twice) titles.
Chris, who also runs for Trafford AC, has been helped and inspired in no small part by mum and dad, Alan and Deborah.
They back their teenage starlet every inch of the way and make sure he gets to all his training sessions and competitions safely.
Deborah said: “Of course we’re so proud of Christopher and all what he has achieved.
“He puts so much hard work in to his running. He deserves his success.”
The annual dash around Chadderton Hall Park proved a triumph for Crompton House as they landed the overall title.
But top honours in the four individual events were shared. Blue Coat were to the fore as Callum Atkinson and Louie Haynes won the Year Sevens and Year Nines races.
And while Brown was the Years 10-11 winner for Crompton House, school pal Marcus Dey was the first Year Eight boy to cross the line.
The success of Haynes helped clinch Blue Coat the Year Nines crown, and in so doing they deprived Crompton House of a clean sweep for the team prizes.
