CHADDERTON FC Juniors are seeing the fruits of their labour.
They received the FA Charter Standard Community Club status, which will only help in their bid to develop a strong standing in the community.
Chadderton pride themselves on providing structured coaching and organised football for young people, boasting 17 teams from under-sevens to under-16s, and a soccer school for those aged four and over.
A fine reputation in junior football has been built over a number of years, and culminated in the Manchester FA Charter Standard Development Club of the year award in 2010.
The club has established links with schools, and more recently with Oldham Sixth Form College.
Chadderton are still keen to expand the operation.
Club development officer Michael Robinson said: “There is so much going on here.
“But we are always looking for ways to improve and reach out to the community.
“Getting the FA Charter Standard Community Club status was a big step forward, as it acknowledged everything we have done up to this point.
“We hope to expand the girls’ section, as we only have one team.
“A lot of work has paid off. A couple of the players who came through our junior system are now members of Chadderton FC’s senior squad.”
Chadderton have a strong base of coaching expertise, and all trainers are encouraged to develop their skills.
Chadderton want girls for under-nines, under-10s under-11s teams in time for the 2011-2012 campaign.
They are also on the lookout for children to take part in a junior football organiser course, in which they get the chance to shadow coaches.
