CRICKET: GREENFIELD under-17s have won the Lancashire County League title for the second consecutive year after two victories were enough to pip Denton West to top spot.
They bowled out first opponents Hyde for 83 before reaching their target with three wickets to spare, despite losing Michael Bird to the first ball of the innings. Ryan Fitton top-scored with 40.
In the decisive fixture, Greenfield dismissed Dukinfield for 62 and didn’t lose a wicket in a reply that lasted less than 10 overs.
Fitton again led the way with an undefeated 45 as Greenfield cruised to title delight.
