Silverware makes Park life sweet

FOOTBALL:

BOUNDARY Park Juniors under-16s claimed the Tameside Sunday Youth League Cup with a 3-0 win against Dukinfield Town.

Andy Winterbottom, Michael McAndrew and Mark Roberts scored.

The under-12s beat Unsworth Juniors 7-4 to clinch the title.

Keenan Roddy-Webb and Jack Etchells bagged braces, while Jack Roberts, Corey Denin and Ryan Miskella completed the scoring.


CHADDY End under-16s lost 1-0 to Manchester North End, but their under-11s won Stalybridge Celtic’s six-a-side tournament.


FAILSWORTH Town under-14s won the league with a 3-3 with Heyside Juniors.

Kevin Cook, Mark Corcoran and Curtis Ingham scored.


CHADDERTON FC Juniors under-13s lifted the Rochdale and Oldham Youth League Cup courtesy of a 5-1 win over Kingsway.

Liam Eadsforth got a hat-trick.



BACK in league action, Chaddy End under-15s edged out Rochdale St Clements 6-4.

Callum Mazynczenko pounced twice, as did Matty Singleton, while Danny Hawthorne and Sam Bowles also found the net.

The league is expanding its divisions at under-11, 12, 13, 14, 16 and a new under-17 level.

CHADDERTON Grasshoppers under-16s moved to the top of the North Bury League when they beat Seedfield 2-1.

Kelvin Mupa got both goals. Westbury need to beat Seedfield to stop Hoppers winning the title.

3D DYNAMOS under-16s finished sixth in the Huddersfield and District Junior League division two after a 3-2 win over Gomersal and Cleckheaton.

Nathan Jenkinson, Adam Weltz and Matt Ralph found the net.

The under-13s finished second following a 2-1 victory at Yorkshire Lions. Lewis Newton and Alex Milovanovic got the goals.

The under-12s beat Silkstone 6-0 to win division two. Luke Cornforth got three for Dynamos, while Charlie Maslen, Tom Ireson and Will Cotton also scored.

HEYSIDE Inter under-12s completed the treble by beating Oldham Athletic Girls 3-2 in the North Manchester Girls’ League Cup final.

Goals from Ellie Doggett, Jade Hughes and Tanisha Williams were enough for Heyside.

Lauren Fallon and Laura Garlick were on target for Latics.

Kayleigh Larkin got three goals for Heyside Angels Blues under-14s as they beat Heyside Angels Clarets 5-2.

Leoni Harland and Sophie Montgomery also scored.

Kelly Ward and Beth Mellor scored for Clarets.

Angels under-13s defeated Chadderton Park 3-2, Natalie Giblin scoring twice and Ashleigh Dickenson getting the other goal.

Angels Whites under-11s saw off Harpurhey Demons 3-1 courtesy of an Ella Rigby treble.


ROCS under-16s beat Heyside Angels in the League Cup semi-final, Megan Jackson scoring two, Emma Watson and Faye Hardicre contributing one each.

Lauren Steel netted for the under-15s, who beat Heyside Angels Clarets in the League Cup semi-final.

OLDHAM under-14s bid to move up the table when they travel to take on Wigan for their penultimate Greater Manchester Schools’ League game of the season on Saturday (kick-off 10.30am).

The local youngsters have given a good account of themselves this term, but a couple of recent draws have hit their hopes of a top-three finish.

A tense 1-1 draw against Bury has left Oldham with the likelihood of a mid-table finish.

They have one game remaining against Rochdale, but with the deadline for league games set for Sunday, that match looks unlikely to go ahead.

Oldham and Bury are likely to battle it out for fifth spot in the table.


AVRO under-14s lifted the East Manchester League Cup when they beat Walshaw Sports on penalties at Hyde United.

Walshaw took the lead early in the second half but Joe Ashworth made it 1-1.

Avro won the penalty shoot-out 5-3.


CHADDERTON FC Juniors under-11s earned a 3-2 victory at AFC Stanley thanks to goals from Alexander Jenkinson, Jordan Richardson and Harry Cooper.


ROYTON Town clinched the Bury and Radcliffe League under-18s title with a 3-0 victory over Chaddy End.

Ben Ashworth fired Town into the lead, Aaron Buczko added a second and Jamie Summers notched the third.
