Oldham frustrate leaders

Oldham under-14s hit top form to hold leaders Bolton to a 2-2 draw in a Greater Manchester Schools’ League game at the Lancaster Club.

The youngsters, who suffered a 4-2 reverse against Salford in their last league game on February 13, raced into a comfortable 2-0 half-time lead.

The local lads were quick off the mark and they took the lead after just 10 minutes when the visitors put the ball into the back of their own net following sustained pressure from Tom Scullion (Failsworth).

Scullion was in the thick of things again five minutes later, doubling his side’s tally with a superb individual effort.

Oldham enjoyed the better of the exchanges after the restart and they looked to be heading for all three points until Bolton fought back to reduce the deficit with a goal from Alex Todd midway through the second half.

The under-14s defended their slim advantage well but Bolton eventually proved their worth, grabbing the equaliser through Jack Horan with just five minutes left, to claim a share of the spoils.

Oldham are back in league action again on Saturday when they travel to St. Gabriel’s School to face Bury (kick-off 10.30am).

Dynamos hit back
WITH only 11 fit players and trailing 4-0 at the interval, it didn’t look good for 3D Dynamos under-16s against Dewsbury Rangers.

But an almighty effort after the break saw Dynamos earn a 4-4 draw.

Elliot Fielding scored a brace, while Alex Kelly and Matt Ralph got the other goals.

The under-13s achieved back-to-back promotions after beating Honley 6-5.

Alex Milovanovic claimed a hat-trick, James Norris bagged two, and Sam Wilson also got in on the act for Dynamos.
