Seven up for Hollinwood
Date published: 21 October 2009
HOLLINWOOD under-13s made it seven wins out of seven with an impressive 5-1 defeat of Brendon Bees in the Tameside and District Junior League.
Taylor Melling scored four of the goals and Liam Marchington got the other for ’Wood, who are seven points clear at the top of the table.
HEYSIDE Juniors under-11s, despite goals from Corey Pearson, Tyler Griffiths, Joe Henderson and Callum Hendrick, were beaten 11-4 by Denton Youth.
But under-11s JFC, with Kade Howarth (three), Conor Henley, Jack Wallace (two), William Heaton (two), Lewis Mason and Joe Maw on the mark, brushed aside Moston Juniors 10-1.
And under-12s JFC overcame Medlock Rangers 2-1. James Forde and Aiden Stevenson scored for Heyside.
ROYTON Town under-15s produced a superb display to record a 5-1 win over Denton Youth Yellows.
CHADDERTON Juniors under-16s maintained their 100-per-cent record with a hard-fought 3-2 win at Oswald Road. A double from Hayden McNally and a Mike Taylor effort did the damage.
And the under-12s, with goals from Ashley Hartley (two) and Michael Gill, secured a 3-0 success at Royton Town. Ben Clark saved his second penalty in as many matches for Chadderton.
JACK Fidler scored four times for Uppermill under-11s in a 6-1 defeat of Heyside Junior Blues. Nathan Jones and Jake Howarth got the other goals.
Tameside Sunday League
SPRINGHEAD under-14s recovered from their County Cup exit with an emphatic 10-1 defeat of Stalybridge Celtic in the Tameside Sunday League.
The local outfit made a power-packed start, going ahead after only four minutes through Kaimmen Morris and Jordan Broadbent adding number two 60 seconds later.
Morris went on to score four times, substitute Mohammad Najib bagged a hat-trick and Connor Gooseman got two.
CHADDY End under-13s were beaten 2-0 by Avro Juniors, but goals from Levi Browe (three), Coby Tyrell, Chris Batters and Zak Porter clinched a 6-1 win for the under-15s over Romley Vipers.
And a Ryan Cobain effort sealed a 1-0 victory for the under-16s against Manchester Gregorians.
K COOK, N Coleman and K McGovern scored for Failsworth Town under-14s in a 3-3 draw against Whitworth Park Sports Club, and the under-15s were held to a goalless draw by Manchester Maccabi.
The under-13s had C Landregan and C Thorpe on target, but their efforts were to no avail as they were beaten 8-2 by Abraham Moss Warriors.
FAILSWORTH Dynamos under-15s, with Shaun Freeman (two), Danny Turner, Layton Goodwin and MaCauley Harewood getting the goals, swept aside Stalybridge Celtic 5-0.
MARTIN Kenney, George Tilley, Michael Pass, Michael Hall and Ben Turner were on target for Heyside Juniors under-14s in a 5-2 win over Gamesley Villa.
North Bury Junior League
CHADDY Hoppers under-16s got off to a terrible start against Seedfield in the North Bury Junior League.
Trailing 3-0 at half-time, the teenagers were heading for defeat in the top-of-the-table clash.
Hoppers dominated the second half and only a sterling defensive display kept them at bay.
But their pressure paid off with 12 minutes to go, with goals from Kyle Latham, Thomas Gray and Nathan Jarvis earning the local outfit an unlikely share of the spoils.
Hoppers under-13s Red bounced back from the previous week’s defeat with a 4-2 win over Radcliffe Juniors — Dan Javed (two), Josh O’Donnell and Matty Goulding got the goals — but under-13s Blue were beaten 3-1 by table-toppers Middleton Boys. Matthew Queenan scored the consolation.

Huddersfield and District Junior League
3D DYNAMOS under-16s have scored nine goals in two games — but with no reward.
They struck four times in defeat last week and put five on the board at Woodkirk Valley, who replied with six in this Huddersfield and District Junior League clash.
Two goals adrift after 10 minutes, they hit back to lead 5-3 in the early stages of the second half.

UPPERMILL under-16s kicked off against Rastrick with only 10 players — but still came away with a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Phil Klich and Joe Francis.
