HIGGINSHAW Eagles under-15s dominated the first half against West Bank Bears.
They led 12-6 at the break thanks to a brace of tries from man-of-the-match Elliot White, both of which were converted by Jamie Mayall.
But a poor 10-minute spell after the restart allowed West Bank to score three converted tries.
Bradley Turner replied, but it was too little too late as Higgy, who were much-improved, went down 24-16.
o OLDHAM St Anne’s under-11s were unable to cope with the physical size and speed of Chorley Panthers in the first half as they were beaten 18-6.
Saints conceded three unanswered tries before the break, but restricted Panthers to one score after it.
They were rewarded for their efforts when hooker Alex France raced in from 65 metres for the best try. France also added the extras.
The boy-of-the-match was Thomas Armstrong for a good defensive stint, while Oliver Depetrillo was the top tackler.
