Pickett pockets hat-trick

A GOAL from Abby Bennett was in vain as R.O.C.S FC under-13s were beaten 2-1 by Droylsden in the North Manchester Girls League.

But the under-15s, featuring a hat-trick from Danielle Pickett, recorded an emphatic 8-1 win over Moston Juniors.

Also on the mark were Lauren Steel (two), Rhema Mears, Shona Ninian and Anna Moorhouse.

HEYSIDE Angels Blues under-11s, with Katy Halligan (two), Lavinia Whitehead (two), Molly Taylor and Ella Rigby finding the net, put six past Heyside Angels Whites without reply.

Jodie Brierley scored the only goal of the game as Angels Clarets under-12s defeated Curzon Ashton.

And a hat-trick from Emily Whitehead (three), plus other efforts from Caitlin Senior, Tanisha Williams (two) and Annais Morris clinched a 7-1 win for Angels Inter under-12s over Failsworth Dynamos, for whom Holly Grimes replied.

Angels under-13s were beaten 2-0 by Stockport County, but goals from Beth Mellor (two), Kelly Ward (two) and Bethan Robinson earned Angels Clarets under-14s a 5-2 victory over Denton Town.

Blues under-14s also went nap as strikes from Kayleigh Larkin, Leoni Harland (two), Paige Rowland and Catherine Todd sealed a 5-1 defeat of Rochdale Ladies.

Elysia Broome and Beth Giblin netted for Angels Clarets under-16s in a 2-1 defeat of Oldham Athletic, while Emma Harte (three), Lucy Shaylor and Blossom Halkyard got the goals in the 5-0 triumph over Uppermill.

UPPERMILL under-14s came from behind to defeat Curzon Ashton 5-3.

Ellen Bergin gave the local outfit an early lead, only for Curzon to open up a 3-1 advantage soon after half-time.

But ’Mill stormed back to take the points thanks to goals from Kirsty Ashworth, Bergin again and a Megan Ashton brace.

A GEORGIA Blackshaw penalty set Uppermill under-12s on their way to a 3-1 defeat of Denton Girls.

Kate Gardner and a Caitlin Hall header sealed victory, while ’keeper Holly Hatton made two great saves.
