Oldham crowned champions

OLDHAM Amateur Swimming Club were crowned champions of the second division of the Central Lancashire Junior League following their 59-46 win at Eccles.

And promotion was achieved in style as Oldham went through the whole campaign undefeated.

Oldham’s girls reigned supreme in the relay events as Olivia Green, Emily Fox, Fleur Mitchell and Amy Cunningham enjoyed a hat- trick of wins in the 10-years and under freestyle, medley and squadron races.

So, took the 12 years and under squad of Olivia Askew, Honor Miller, Beth Peak and Caitlin Wareing.

The 14-years and under squad of Chloe Basnett, Rhiannon Prestage, Jessica Fullalove and Bethany Fox followed suit, matched by the 16 years and under team of Sophie Kenny, Helen Richards, Vicky Burgess and Hannah Clegg.

Jamie Marsden, Henry Coverley, Daniel Fearnley and Dylan Arzoni were winners of the 10 years and under medley relay, while the 14 years and under team of Jordan Roberts, Sam Hill, Oliver Coverley and Peter Cunningham claimed a double in the medley and freestyle relays.

In the mixed relay events, the 10 years and under team of Fleur Mitchell, Daniel Fearnley, Olivia Green and Dylan Arzoni triumphed in the squadron relay with Amy Cunningham replacing Fleur Mitchell in the victorious freestyle relay team.

The 14 years and under team of Jessica Fullalove, Jordan Roberts, Rhiannon Prestage, Sam Hill, Chloe Basnett, Oliver Coverley and Peter Cunningham completed a hat-trick in their relay events.

Hannah Clegg, Harry Entwistle, Vicky Burgess and Ash Ratchford won the 16 years and under mixed squadron relay with Sophie Kenny replacing Hannah Clegg in the successful freestyle team.
