Cricket: AUSTERLANDS under-17s completed the Saddleworth and District Cricket League double in front of their own supporters.
The teenagers from Thorpe Lane added the Romida Trophy to their title success with an emphatic eight-wicket win over Uppermill.
Tom Green and Greg Scholes did the damage with the ball. They claimed four for 15 and three for 28 respectively as the visitors, who were going great guns on 59 for no wicket, collapsed to 109 all out.
Key player Michael Bird, who was on the losing side in the Twenty20 Cup final on the same ground little more than a week earlier, was caught and bowled by Adam Sunderland for no score.
Opener Joe Molloy hit 48 in reply, while Sunderland was unbeaten on 25 as Austerlands reached their target with half of their 20 overs remaining.
Molloy was named man-of-the-match by umpires Peter Darby and Len Hopwood.
