Divers dip in to pool of medals

YOUNGSTERS from Oldham Diving Club made a splash at the North West Novices Competition at Manchester Aquatics Centre, winning five gold medals.
Two of the golds went to Kendel Latham in the girls’ 12/13 years age group and a further triumph in the 14/16 years section.
In the 14/16 years category, Kendel amassed 169.95 points to finish over 30 points clear of the competition.
There were also two medals for Ainsley Davies who struck gold in the girls’ eight/nine years age group and silver in the 10/11 years section.
In the latter there was also a bronze for Rachel Pollinger while Jasmine Barrow narrowly missed out on a medal.
Luke Barrow won a gold in the boys eight/nine years section with Bradley Kelly missing out on a bronze by 0.1 point.
Anthony Harding was also victorious in the 10/11 years age group.
