CHADDY End FC under-15s are closing in on County Cup success.
The talented youngsters are through to the final of the prestigious competition after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Curzon Ashton.

Tom Procter and Curtis Ingham scored for Chaddy End, who play Manchester North End in the final on May 24.

MEDLOCK Rangers under-16s are on course for back-to-back County Cup glory after 6-1 defeat of Broadheath in the semi-finals.

Andy Kremner (two), Shaun Chapman (two), Joe Heap and Alex Booth scored for Rangers, who won the prestigious competition at under-15s level last season.

Rochdale and Oldham Youth League

HEYSIDE Juniors under-15s avenged a 5-0 early-season County Cup defeat in style with a 5-1 victory over title rivals Springhead.

Two Matthew Robinson strikes either side of a Ryan Atkin penalty — Atkin was brought down when through on goal by a visiting defender who was sent off — saw Heyside establish a 3-0 lead.

Sam Beasley got one back from the spot before the break for 10-man Springhead, but two late Joe Burlison volleys sealed the points.

Alex Berry bagged the only goal as the under-14s defeated Chadderton Juniors 1-0, and the under-13s, with Kareem James helping himself to a hat-trick, swept aside Chaddy Rangers 6-0. Lewis Ryan, Matthew Hyman and Joe Gledhill did the rest of the damage.

CROMPTON Villa under-12s suffered a 6-3 defeat at the hands of Chadderton FC Juniors in a rehearsal of next week’s League Cup semi-final clash.

Lewis Wood (two) and Jack Johnson scored for Villa, while James Tulley, Harrison Grant, Bradley Humphreys (two) and Liam Eadsforth (two) did the damage for Chadderton.

A HAT-TRICK from Calum Buckley, a Tom Maloney double and a Ryan Mason effort clinched a 6-3 success for Chaddy End FC under-12s against Chaddy Park.


SPRINGHEAD under-13s continued their relentless march to the title with a 3-0 win over Copperpot.

Goalless at half-time, Kaimmen Morris broke the deadlock, captain Josh Jones added a second after skilfully playing his way through the defence, and it was left to Jordan Broadbent to seal victory with number three.

Tameside and District Junior League
HEYSIDE JFC under-11s had Connor Buckley (two), Matthew Walls and Jacob Foley on target in a 4-3 defeat of Fletcher Moss in the Tameside and District Junior League.

But Heyside Juniors ‘A’ were beaten 3-2 by Dukinfield Tigers ‘A’ — Jamie Ashton and Callum Hendrick scored the consolation goals — and the ‘B’ team succumbed 2-1 to Dukinfield Tigers ‘B’. Aaron Broome scored for Heyside.


A SAM Bagshaw goal was in vain as 3D Dynamos under-11s succumbed 6-1 to 3D Dynamos but under-11s ‘M’, with Tom Waring, Remi Morris, Aaron Rogers and Sean Murray getting the goals, beat AFC Oldham 4-0.


FAILSWORTH Dynamos under-14s, with Ryan Johnson (two), Scott McBride and Tom Heap the mark, enjoyed a 4-2 win over Ashton United.

Tameside Sunday League

FAILSWORTH Town suffered mixed fortunes in the Tameside Sunday League.

The under-12s lost 7-2 at home to top-of-the-table Northside — Declan Marks and Oliver Sloan netted for Town — but the under-13s won 2-1 at Ashton United, with Kevin Cook and Ryan Conway getting the goals.

But there was Challenge Cup disappointment for the under-14s, who went down 6-0 to Stalybridge Celtic in the last eight of the competition.


HEYSIDE Juniors under-14s produced a dominant display to defeat Glossop North End 4-1.

Jordan Holt, Devaughn Bridge, Ellis Rigby and Bradley Cryer were Heyside’s marksmen.


DESPITE goals from Coby Tyrell, Joe Burgoyne and Oliver Monaghan, Chaddy End FC under-14s were edged out 4-3 by Harpurhey Falcons.

A DANNY Mills double and a Tom Shackleton effort clinched a 3-2 win for Uppermill under-15s against Ridgehill.

JAKE Pass, Ben Holmes and Ben Trippier netted for Heyside Juniors under-13s in a 3-1 defeat of Whitworth Park.

Pass and Holmes (two) were also on the mark as the youngsters followed up with a 3-2 win over Barr Hill.


North Bury Junior League

A HAT-TRICK from Dan Javed and a Josh O’Donnell goal clinched a 4-4 draw for Chaddy Hoppers under-12s Red against Middleton Colts in the North Bury Junior League.

But the Blue team, who went ahead through Daniel Randle, were beaten 2-1 by Radcliffe Borough ‘A’.

Borough had the advantage of a strong wind in the second half and scored twice, the winner coming late on.


East Manchester Mini-Soccer League

East Manchester League

AVRO Juniors under-13s climbed to the top of the East Manchester Junior League table with a 3-1 win at Fletcher Moss.

Jake Jackson, Jack Bostock and Dan Lindley were the Avro marksmen.

SHAUN Chapman helped himself to four goals as Medlock Rangers under-16s swept aside Dukinfield Tigers 17-0.

Andy Kremner, Joe Heap and Alex Booth bagged hat-tricks, while Will Webster, Jacob Boland, Scott Cheetham and Harry Hanlon got one apiece.


AN outstanding performance, with two goals from Niall Swanick and Luke Wood, saw Moorside Juniors under-16s beat AFC Clayton 4-0 to earn a place in the final of the divisional cup.


Huddersfield and District Junior League

TWO goals down after 15 minutes, 3D Dynamos under-15s stormed back to beat table-topping Dewsbury Rangers 3-2 in the Huddersfield and District League.

3D were level pegging by half-time thanks to Matt Ralph and Elliot Fielding, and they nosed in front when Fielding got his second with a scrambled effort.

It was then over to James Bentley to keep Rangers at bay with several fine saves.

Alex Milovanovic struck four times for under-12s ‘M’, who brushed aside Kirkheaton 4-1. Michael Kitchen and Zac Gandy got the other goals.


Manchester Youth and Mini-Soccer League

Manchester Youth League

A TOM Nutall double and a Riley Hamill effort secured a 3-1 win for Chaddy End FC under-11s against Northside ‘A’ in the Manchester Youth League.


Bury and Radcliffe Sunday League

CHADDY End FC under-15s, with Ryan Fagan and Danny Noble among the scorers, recorded a 3-0 win over Bowlee in the Bury and Radclifee Sunday League Cup.


Under-15s look to finish on a high

OLDHAM Schools under-15s will aim to sign off in style when they entertain Wigan at the Lancaster Club on Saturday (kick-off 10.30am).

With just five points to their name, the teenagers have found it tough going in the Greater Manchester Schools’ League this season.

Wigan have also endured difficult times but victory for either side would see them climb to mid-table.

Oldham under-14s, meanwhile, are setting their sights on the treble.

With the league title already safely in the bag, they are now looking to increase their silverware haul.

They are through to the Talbot Cup final after an impressive 4-1 defeat of Salford, while they are counting down to a quarter-final clash against Sefton in the North-West Woodward Trophy. The tie takes place on Saturday, March 28, following last weekend’s postponement.

Defeat dents title aspirations

UPPERMILL Rockettes’ title hopes in the under-16s division of the Oldham Girls League suffered a serious setback when they went down 3-1 to Heyside Clarets.

They wasted several good chances before Heyside broke clear to open the scoring, and they added a second moments later.

Kim Buckley pulled a goal back for Rockettes, who dominated the second half only to concede a third.

Lily Prince, Blossom Halkyard and Emma Harte scored for Heyside.

To compound Rockettes’ misery, Jenni Irwin suffered a serious knee injury and will miss the rest of the season. 

GEMMA Jacobs and Rachel McHugh netted two goals each as Heyside Angels under-16s overcame Oldham Athletic 4-0.

Beth Mellor was the star of the show for Angels Clarets under-13s, who beat Denton Town 5-1. She scored four times and Kelly Ward got the other.

A Leoni Harland double for Angels Inter under-13s was enough to see off Curzon Ashton 2-0, while Alix Sephton scored four as Angels under-14s triumphed 8-0 over Uppermill Rockettes. Natalie Giblin (two), Natalie Gregory and Kinsa Hmami completed the tally.

Alicia Stretton also netted twice for Angels Clarets under-11s in a 2-1 defeat of Oldham Athletic.

R.O.C.S under-16s, inspired by Faye Hardicre’s seven-goal show, returned to winning ways with an 11-0 defeat of Uppermill Rockettes seconds.

Sarah Ryan hit a hat-trick and Nikita Ritchie got the other.

The under-14s, with Lauren Steel scoring four times, overcame Oldham Athletic Girls 5-1. Shona Ninian made up the tally, while Feiruz Abdullah replied for Athletic.


OLDHAM Athletic under-12s held Droylsden Juniors to a 1-1 in their opening League Cup fixture.

Abby Bennett scored first for Athletic, but they could not hold on to their lead.

The under-13s started their League Cup campaign in style.

They recorded an 8-1 win over Chadderton Park, with goals from Bethany Marland (two), Chloe Austin (two), Rachel Merritt, Abbie Porter, Natalya Smythe and Jordan Robinson, who was opening her account for the season.
