Medal haul delights Oldham coach

OLDHAM Aquatics swimmers reaped multiple personal best times and a record medal haul at the City of Leeds new year long course meet.
Gold medallists included Ella Bergin Williams in the girls' 15 years 200m freestyle, 200m butterfly and 400m freestyle, Kimberly Burston in the girls' 13 years 100m butterfly and 200m butterfly, Ziggy Standring in the boys' 10 years 200m backstroke, Alex Richardson in the 16 and over 200m freestyle and 100m freestyle, Katie Richardson in the girls' 15 years 100m breaststroke and 50m butterfly, and Daniel Croft in the boys' nine years 50m backstroke,
Silver medallists included Ziggy Standring in the boys' 10 years 50m backstroke and 100m backstroke, Ella Bergin-Williams in the girls' 15 years 100m butterfly, Clara Harrison in the girls' 14 years 200m individual medley, 200m backstroke and 50m backstroke, Ella Price in the girls' 12 years 200m butterfly and 50m butterfly, Ellie Lomax in the girls' 13 years 200m butterfly, Amarai Hoque in the girls' 11 years 100m backstroke, Emilie Byrom in the girls' 11 years 200m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke, Luke Founde in the boys' 10 years 50m breaststroke and Kimberley Burston in the girls' 13 years 50m freestyle.
Bronze medallists were Ella Price in the girls' 12 years 100m butterfly, 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke, Luke Founde in the boys' 10 years 200m breaststroke, Ella Bergin-Williams in the girls' 15 years 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly, Tyler Maguire-Thornton in the boys' 12 years 50m freestyle, Ciara Harrison in the girls' 14 years 100m backstroke and 50m butterfly, Amy Harrison in the girls 13 years 200m breaststroke, Gemma Croft in the girls' 15 years 400m freestyle, Ziggy Standring in the boys' 10 years 100m freestyle and Alex Richardson in the 16 years and over 50m backstroke.
Now looking forward to the Lancashire County Championships at the Manchester Aquatics Centre during the last weekend in January and first weekend in February, the Oldham Aquatics swimmers are in great shape.
Head coach Mark Lord said: "Our swimmers have shown what grit and determination in training can achieve.
"We are all working hard to peak now at this years Lancashire County Championships."
