Harriers duo are flying high

WINNERS: Harriers duo Harrison Collier and Sophie Andrews.
OLDHAM and Royton Harriers celebrated a double success in the latest South-East Lancashire League Cross-Country League meet, staged at Tandle Hill.
Both victories came in the under-15s category, with Sophie Andrews the leading girl in 19 minutes, 48 seconds, while Harry Collier bagged the boys honours in 16:54.
Also in the boys' race, Tom Graham ran 18:46 and Thomas Leigh 25:49 to claim second place in the team standings.
Macy Beswick (under-15 girls) stopped the clock in 24:15, while Ethan Glasgow-Lattibeaudierre (20:36) and Jake Holt (24:46) ran with great credit in the under-17s event.
COMBINED
In the under-13 race for boys, Oliver Richardson (17:35), Jake Jackson (18:53), Lewis Withey (20:43) and Matthew Cooper (20:49) combined to clinch runners-up spot.
A fine second place was also the reward for the under-13s girls' team of Lisa Glover-Jones (16:50), Lauren Bartholomew (17:10), Lila Robinson (17:28), Astacia Mannings (17:36), Megan Bartholomew (18:23), Lucy Cunliffe (20:29) and Charlotte Wiener (21:13).
The under-11 girls saw Holly Reilly cross the line in 12:13, with Katelyn Withey (12:35) and Darci Weston (12:46) followijng on.
Blake Beckman (9:24), Liam Smith (10:14), Harrison Cooper (10:46) and Dindu Elenwa (12:26) flew the flag for the Harriers in the under-11s boys' race.
The club's senior men's team, of Michael Mannings (43:13), David Carroll (45:12), Lee Robinson (46:19), David Smith (51:51) and Darren Mannings (57:47), came home fourth.
The women, of Maria Wall (33:22), Angie Hart (36:16), Jaymie Shenton (36:43), Emma Buckley (38:53), Gail Corrigan (42:23), Sara Bott (43:05), Liz Thompson (43:05), Janet Appleyard (52:55) and Karen Stuttard (54:13), took seventh place.
At the Chadderton Hall parkrun, Anne-Marie Lord was the first woman home in 24:43, with Sandra Edwards (36:02) and Maria Wall (45-27), who volunteered as tail runner, in behind.
Top honours at the Oldham parkrun went to Tony Muir, who took the tape in 18:24.
RUNNER
In the junior parkrun, also at Alexandra Park, Jake Jackson ran 8:51, with Sam Casella volunteering as the tail runner in 17:14.
At Heaton Park, Amy Hallett came home in 22:45.
