ROYTON Trojans preserved their 100-per-cent record to carry off the Oldham Cricket Development Group under-11s Indoor Cricket League title.
The made it a perfect 10 by defeating bottom side Christchurch Scholars.
The result was never really in doubt with the Trojans having far too much firepower in both batting and bowling departments, but the Scholars stuck to their task well.
A quirk of fate saw the two teams on equal points in second place playing each other in the final round of matches.
Batting first, Austerlands Aces scored a respectable 240 runs, but the loss of six wickets reduced their score to 210.
Opponents Royton Heroes had no trouble in reaching their goal as they completed their innings on 244.
The best game of the night featured Uppermill and Glodwick.
COMPETITIVE
Uppermill posted a competitive 253. In reply, Glodwick needed 15 off the final over and then eight off the last two balls.
The game seemed Uppermill's when the penultimate ball only produced three runs, but then Sufiyan Aslam hit a mighty six to secure a most unlikely victory.
There was a basement battle between Austerlands Avengers and Heyside.
Both teams were seeking a second win of the tournament and it was Heyside who came out on top by two runs.
Saddleworth completed a respectable campaign by scoring a massive 292 to sweep aside Friarmere.
