THERE THEY GO . .. the start of the girls' Years Five and Six race
DETERMINED runners from 13 primary schools took part in the gruelling Hathershaw College cluster cross-country races at Alexandra Park.
After an exciting day of action in the bitter cold, St Martin's emerged as the overall winners of the event.
Holy Rosary were runners-up, while Greenhill were third.
Schools that took part included Alexandra Park, Broadfield, Burnley Brow, Greenhill, Holy Rosary, Lyndhurst, Medlock Valley, Richmond,
Roundthorn, St Hilda's, St Hugh's, St Martin's and St Thomas (Werneth).
Results -
Years One and Two mixed race: 1, St Martin's; 2, Lyndhurst; 3, Holy Rosary. Years Three and Four Mixed: 1, St Hugh's; 2, St Martin's; 3, Holy Rosary. Years Five and Six Boys': 1, St Martin's; 2, St Hugh's; 3, St Thomas. Years Five and Six Girls': 1, St Martin's; 2, Holy Rosary; 3, St Hugh's/Burnley Brow. Overall: 1, St Martin's; 2, Holy Rosary; 3, Greenhill.
