Injury for Gee adds to insult

DAMAGED ANKLE . . . Sammy Gee came out on crutches to watch Oldham at Bradford
VICE-CAPTAIN Sammy Gee's season looks certain to be over after he seriously damaged his right ankle in Oldham RL Club's record 82-0 defeat at Bradford Bulls.
Scoring 15 tries and 11 goals, Bulls played spectacular attacking rugby against shell-shocked Roughyeds, who played abysmally and let down themselves, their coach, chairman, club and loyal fans, who backed them to the bitter end.
Gee was carried off on a stretcher in the first half, fearing that the joint was broken.
He travelled back to Oldham with the team and was then going on to hospital in Wigan.
"I'm sure it's broken. I remember jumping to collect a drop-out and all I recall after that is the severe pain," said Gee, who is the second Oldham player to face a premature end to the KP Championship Shield due to injury.
Craig Briscoe suffered a serious knee injury against Workington at Bower Fold and is waiting for an operation.
With four games left, it leaves Roughyeds with 22 players, including dual-reg prop Tyler Dickinson and on-loan centre James Mendeika, who has still to make his debut.
Despite record defeat, Scott Naylor's men stay fourth bottom with 18 points from 26 games.
