LEWIS Palfrey kicked seven goals as Oldham RL took another step towards securing their Kingstone Press Championship status for next season.
The Roughyeds skipper was in imperious form with the boot at Heywood Road.
Oldham scored four tries through Dave Hewitt (two), Adam Clay and Danny Langtree, while the hosts replied with a brace from Shaun Robinson.
Scott Naylor's Roughyeds were in command at half-time with a 16-4 lead in the Shield clash, before pulling further clear in the second period.
