DEADLOCK still exists in the ownership battle at Oldham, leaving the club still unable to move forward with planning for next season.
The clock continues to tick with no further signs of progress in talks between owner Bill Quinn and Chris Hamilton, the prospective buyer of his 75-per-cent shareholding.
Further talks are set to take place today but the future direction of the troubled club is shrouded in doubt.
“I will be in touch (with Quinn) in the hope that something can be sorted out in the next couple of days,” said Hamilton, who currently has a 25-per-cent interest in the Roughyeds.
Pre-season training is due to resume on Monday, November 16, but at present Oldham are without a contracted coach — though Tony Benson could stay on — and have not come up with a playing budget which would allow for deals to be offered to players.
It is now 15 weeks since Quinn first publicly announced his intention to sell his interest in the Roughyeds.
Hornets RL have appointed former St Helens forward John Stankevitch as their new head coach following the departure of Darren Shaw.
