New loan deals for quartet

ON-LOAN quartet Liam Bent, Connor Williams, Sadiq Adebiyi and Kameron Pearce-Paul will stay at Oldham RL Club for the rest of the season.
New loan deals with London Broncos for Adebiyi and Pearce-Paul and with Salford Red Devils for Bent and Williams have allayed worries that their parent clubs might have wanted them back before the curtain drops on all transfer activity at 5pm tomorrow.
After that, and with eight games still to go, there will be neither ins nor outs and dual-reg movement will be restricted.
Teenage wing Williams and 20-year-olds Bent, Adebiyi and Pearce-Paul, all sampling Championship rugby for the first time this season, will potentially have big roles to play now in injury-ravaged Oldham's bid to finish outside the bottom two.
Having beaten the deadline by a few days, a similar task awaits 19-year-old Wakefield Trinity full-back Luke Hooley when he links up with Scott Naylor's men next week, again on loan to the end of Oldham's second year of Championship rugby.
With two season-defining months of rugby still to be played, starting with Sunday's derby clash with Rochdale at Bower Fold (3pm), Roughyeds are third bottom above Swinton Lions and Bradford Bulls.
Rochdale are next on the ladder with two points more than Oldham and a better for-and-against record.
Speaking of his relief at completing the four loan extensions, club chairman Chris Hamilton said there had been "some concern" that it wouldn't happen in all cases.
He added: "Thankfully, we were able to negotiate to keep all four and it goes without saying that we are delighted.
"Liam has been with us longer than the London boys and Connor Williams, but they have all done reasonably well and we expect there will be more to come from them as the weeks go by."
Pearce-Paul missed the Sheffield game with a sternum injury, but with the big Rochdale derby in mind, he will be assessed at training tonight along with George Tyson (knee), Matty Wilkinson (calf), Scott Leatherbarrrow (calf), Danny Langtree (bicep), Liam Thompson (sternum) and Jack Spencer (groin).
Roughyeds are urging fans to make a special effort to get to Stalybridge for this last game of the 23-match regular season and they are again offering free admission to under-16s with an adult.
Home, away and one-off Summer Bash replica jerseys, all sizes, will be on sale at the shop inside Bower Fold. Summer Bash jerseys are £35 and the rest £45, cash or cheque only.
Alternatively, you can order by ringing the club on 07904 898177 where you can also buy discounted tickets for the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final at Wembley on Saturday, August 26.
Buying cup final tickets from Roughyeds is a way of supporting the club.
