Red Devils outline Bent agreement

IF Liam Bent was to continue playing for Oldham on loan, Salford Red Devils insisted it had to be on a week-to-week basis, explained Roughyeds chief Chris Hamilton.
The Red Devils, his full-time employers, think highly of their 19-year-old back-row forward (pictured), who has been at Oldham for several weeks to speed his development and to get used to playing at Championship level.
Roughyeds have re-signed him for another week, which will enable him to stake a claim for a place in the 17 to play Halifax at Bower Fold on Sunday (3pm) and Dewsbury Rams at the same venue next Wednesday night, June 21 (8pm).
With three games in eight days coming up, coach Scott Naylor will want as many fit players as possible at his disposal.
Unlucky prop Phil Joy goes into hospital on Monday for an operation on the left shoulder he has dislocated twice this season.
Oldham expect confirmation today that Sammy Gee's disciplinary hearing, following his dismissal for punching in the Summer Bash derby against Rochdale, will be heard next Tuesday.
Halifax, meantime, come to Bower Fold on Sunday after a 54-0 win at Sheffield in which youngsters James Woodburn-Hall and Connor McGrath stole the limelight with two and three respectively.
