Gill back in the fold

GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN . . . Kieran Gill has returned to the Oldham ranks in time for a vital spell of games
ON-LOAN Kieran Gill, recalled by parent club Castleford Tigers and named in their 19 for the Betfred Super League game at Huddersfield Giants on May 4, is back with Oldham ahead of three of the Roughyeds' most important KP Championship games of the season.
The 21-year-old centre, who scored a sensational try to give Oldham a 26-22 home win against Bradford Bulls at Bower Fold last month, has re-signed on season-long loan which, as before, includes a 48-hour recall clause.
His return is a timely tonic for Scott Naylor's men who go head to head with Batley Bulldogs, Rochdale Hornets and Swinton Lions in their next three outings.
Said Oldham chairman Chris Hamilton: "Kieran has always enjoyed his time at Oldham with us, and we've enjoyed having him. He's always regarded himself as part of our club since he first arrived last season.
'THANK'
"We're delighted we've got him back and I want to publicly thank Castleford for their help in arranging it."
He said there was a good relationship between the two clubs and if ever another recall seemed likely it would be fully discussed by the Oldham chairman and Tigers chief executive Stephen Gill.
Gill is expected to be in the running for a return to the Oldham squad against Batley Bulldogs on Sunday (3pm) at the Manchester Regional Athletics Centre, Etihad Campus, Rowsley Street, Manchester M11 3FF.
Hospitality places are available at the same price, £35, as those at Bower Fold. To book ring 07904 898177.
There's car parking at the stadium but it will quickly fill up, although there is plenty of street parking nearby.
The West Stand will be opened for home and away supporters. Entrances will be signposted and will take both season-ticket holders and cash admissions. All Oldham season tickets will be valid, seating and standing, even though the Regional Centre is an all-seat stadium.
Admission prices on the day will be £17 adults, £14 concessions, £5 juniors - the same prices fans pay for seats at Bower Fold.
The West Stand has a bar (cans only) and food outlets, while Roughyeds will try to create a home-from-home environment for supporters by selling, as they would at Bower Fold, match-day programmes and Golden Gamble tickets.
Said chairman Hamilton: "We thank our supporters for their patience and understanding of a situation that was caused by the weather and the adverse affect it had on the Bower Fold pitch.
"We had to find a pitch that wasn't in the middle of essential close-season renovation work, which ruled out several venues.
"A big thank-you too to everyone who helped us to acquire the Regional Athletics Centre, which will be giving us first use of their pitch after essential seasonal work on it.
"We hope fans will rally round in numbers. There's a certain novelty value about us playing at the Etihad Campus . It's our home game and we hope supporters will back us vocally, as they usually do, to make sure the choice of venue is advantageous to us."
