We just didn't show up, says dejected Naylor

DISAPPOINTED: Scott Naylor
NEITHER Scott Naylor nor his assistant Lee Spencer pulled any punches when slamming the Roughyeds' lack of effort and commitment in a 74-12 hammering by London Broncos.
In a totally one-sided game Broncos ran in 14 tries against a woefully-weak Roughyeds, who showed signs of surrendering in the second half.
Clearly angry at his side's capitulation, head coach Naylor told reporters: "We gave in. This is an embarrassing day for me as a coach and also for the club.
COMPETE
"As a team we didn't show up either mentally or physically.
"We travel to these away grounds and we just don't compete. We lost the game (so heavily) because of ourselves."
Taking up the same theme, assistant coach Spencer added: "You can't put a gloss on that. There can be no excuses. It's a mental thing.
"We travelled down here with 17 fit lads and all 17 had to get stuck in and give it a go - not just seven or eight.
"We were down to our last 17, but they were all good to compete. It's not about who's best in this position or who's best in that position; it's about all 17 having a dig and putting in a shift for each other and for the club. They didn't do that today.
"Some of the lads just didn't hack it. There was no fight in us, no spirit.
"With a small squad we haven't enough players to keep changing things round, so we have to man up.
"It's all about showing your opponents that you are prepared to battle and fight.
"You have to match them physically in a sport like ours and if you don't do that you'll get the sort of going over they gave us today.
"It's a massively disappointing day. We had no resilience at all. It's doing my head in."
