Naylor hails Oldham's 'fantastic character'

OLDHAM'S players deserved massive credit for the way they responded to a "very honest" dressing room chat at half-time, said coach Scott Naylor.
Trailing 24-6, Roughyeds listened to the boss and then went out to rattle up 22 unanswered points and win their first away game of the season.
Naylor added: "They could have settled for another away defeat, but they showed what they are made of. They were ready to battle and that's a great quality to have in your team.
'REARED'
"We started okay, but we then had a 20-minute spell when the old Oldham reared its ugly head. Had we trailed by 18 points at half-time this time last year we would probably have conceded 40.
"But the character we showed here was fantastic. It was an enormous win for us for obvious reasons, but also because we know what we are capable of now if we ever find ourselves in that position again at half-time.
"Some of the lads were amazing for 80 minutes, but they all did superbly in the second half when, in the main, we stuck to the game plan."
