LOCAL radio station Revolution have announced details of the next 'Revolution Live' showcase and DJ night, set for the autumn.

Uber classy band Alias Kid will headline the next 'Revolution Live', which, after selling out Whittle's in Oldham last time, takes place next at the Ratcliffe Bars at Rochdale FC's stadium on Saturday, October 22.

The excellent Twisted Dolls and All the King's Men provide quality support, while DJs on the night will be Clint Boon and Dave Sweetmore.

Tickets, priced at just £10, are now available from www.ticketline.co.uk.

Alternatively you can also purchase from the Spotland football stadium.

That's when Chadderton-based Danny Seal's promotional outfit - Emerging North - stages it's third exciting live showcase night.

Three top bands will play at the Aatma venue in central Manchester again - Sixty Minute Man, a six-piece from Salford, city-based indie rockers the Tourist Attractions, and highly-rated Leeds rockers, Tabloids.

* OLDHAM indie hopefuls The Recreation have excitedly announced that their new single - 'Sofa' - will be released on May 20.

A small taster of the brand new tune has been posted on the Rec's Facebook page, and it sounds terrific.

* THE next 'mEssy' club night promises to be a cracker at Jackson's Pit on Saturday, May 28.

Resident DJ Legohead will be joined by guests Andy Calder, Green Nuff and Graham Stoker, while there will be live sets from ace bands The Spitting Pips and Ink.

Advance tickets, priced at just a fiver each, are now available.

* CUPIDS are heading to old London town once again.

Sid, Jake, Ryan and James will headline the latest 'Red Light Sessions' showcase at the Hawley Arms in Camden Town on May 26.

Support will come from exciting new artist Matt Mure.

* MILNROW indie band Paintbox Fires have released another single, titled 'Clean'.

The single is available from most digital music stores right now, or via links on the Fires' Facebook page.

New gig dates are also promised very soon. Watch out.

* ROCK your way down to Whittle's again this weekend as two top tribute bands are in town.

Friday sees Metallica tribute outfit 'Metalleeka' hit the King Street haunt, while on Saturday, the superb 'Pink Floydian' are featured.
